TEA and System Modeling

Techno-Economic Analysis Committee

The primary objective of the Techno-Economic Committee is to investigate the costs associated with converting  desalination concentrate to a thermal energy storage medium.

TESuROC 2.0

TESuROC 2.0 is an ongoing design of the current lab setup which is easier to manufacture than the TESuROC 1.0 design. This design focuses on larger scale thermal energy storage device variations using concrete as a containment material.

Salt Characterization

Visualization

The goal of the Visualization Committee is to perform simple melting tests on each desalination concentrate - eutectic salt sample to better understanding the phase change process and estimate the melting temperature range.  The initial melting process for each sample is carefully documented with a magnified 4k video recording synced with multiple thermocouple sensors.

Administration and Media

Administration/Documentation/Media:

The Administration, Documentation, and Media Committee’s sole purpose is to spread awareness about TESuROC. In addition to organizing files and folders used amongst all committees, this committee oversees all social media accounts by posting up to date and engaging information about our project. This committee also updates and manages the official TESuROC website.
